How to unlink your YouTube and Google accounts

This little problem had been bugging me for a while. I got myself a new e-mail address with G-Mail and wanted to link it with my existing YouTube account but I could not find anywhere to unlink my old G-Mail account from YouTube in order to link it again with my new one! (I hope that made sense).

A quick search revealed many other people with the same issue and finally I stumbled across this on the YouTube website which solved all my problems: http://www.youtube.com/my_account_unlink.

For those of you who don’t know what I am on about. There are currently two types of YouTube accounts, those that were created before Google owned YouTube and those that were created after Google bought YouTube.

Google is planning on phasing out the old YouTube accounts by forcing people to link their existing YouTube accounts with a Google account, users will then have to login to YouTube using their Google account details. This Google account will then act as a master account for all of Google’s services including G-Mail and YouTube.

Missing Missy: “Extremely Emotional, I was in tears.”

Below is an e-mail I received yesterday that I thought was hilarious!

This is the only photo of her I have she answers to the name Missy and is black and white and about 8 months old. missing on Harper street and my phone number.
Thanks Shan.

Hacked in under 5 minutes: How to protect your wireless LAN

I went to my parents house last week to investigate a problem with their internet connection running at prehistoric speeds only to find that some cheeky hacker had cracked the security code (64-bit WEP Key for the geeks) and was using Mum’s internet connection.

I will admit, as embarrassing as it is that it was me who set the wireless modem up! I guess I got a bit lazy and rushed through the configuration thinking that no one would really bother trying to hack the connection. The house is located in a sparsely populated area on a 5-acre block of land, surely they wouldn’t even be able to pick up the signal without some kind of powerful external antenna! Well, I could not have been more wrong. Continue reading “Hacked in under 5 minutes: How to protect your wireless LAN”

The Daily Grind

Hello readers!

I’ve just installed WordPress and decided to begin my very own Blog.  So the big question is, why did I decide to write a blog in the first place?

Well, there is no single answer but I will mention a few things that inspired me. The first and probably the primary reason is that I seem to have a lot of spare time! Most of this time is spent doing a lot of non-constructive things like watching TV or playing the X-Box 360 (I am playing Modern Warfare 2 at the moment).

Secondly, I thought it might make for an interesting social experiment, to see how many (or how little) people are actually interested in what I have to say.

Thirdly, I currently work a very boring job which generally involves me sitting in front of a computer trying to look busy for eight and a half hours a day, Monday to Friday. There are occassional moments of excitement but in this time I have read a lot of other blogs, spent a lot of time on YouTube and I am continually discovering new and interesting things from all around the internet that I think are worth sharing. A lot of the time it is harder trying to look busy than it is to be actually doing work! So hopefully this will give me a good chance to pass the time when there is absolutely nothing to be done at work. Continue reading “Hello world!”
