God at his computer

Here is a cool trick to enable “God Mode” in Windows 7. God mode will allow you to access all of Window’s settings from one place. All of the settings are normally available from other areas within Windows but the beauty of God mode is that it compiles all of them together.

To enable god mode:

  • Create a new folder.
  • Rename the folder to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  • The folder’s icon will change.
  • Double click the folder to access the god mode window.

Windows will display 46 different sections each with many configuration options.

Important Note: God mode will apparently work on both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, it will also work on the 32-bit version of Windows Vista and the 32-bit version of Windows Server 2008. It has been known however, to cause the 64-bit version of Vista to crash! If this happens to you then you may need to start Windows in safe-mode to delete the folder.
